The Grammy-nominated act THE WEATHER GIRLS, which has sold more than 6 million records worldwide, has established itself over the years in the live industry, and fans have grown with the band. The band has always remained true to its disco roots.
In 1976 the band was founded with Martha Wash and Izora Rhodes-Armstead as background singers for SYLVESTER. In 1982 the two ladies recorded the world hit “It's raining men”.
THE WEATHER GIRLS have played countless gigs worldwide and have always been kept alive under the management of Dynelle Rhodes. Dynelle is the daughter of the late Izora. The two were on tour together for more than 25 years after Martha separated from the band.
Dynelle was only 15 years old when she was waiting for her mother in the backstage area of the legendary "Studio 54" in the 1970s. Dynelle has breathed new life into the WEATHER GIRLS. Since the disco sound has established itself in the mainstream and in the clubs, it is the perfect time to engage the two ladies for events of all kinds.
In 2018 the two women toured with the Dance Diva Terri B! (My Disco Tour home) in the USA.
A big, joint disco show is planned with the creative director Marvin A. Smith, who has already worked with artists such as Bruno Mars, Kelly Rowland, Helene Fischer, Kylie Minogue, Black Panther and other top-class projects.
The demand for the band consisting of Dynelle Rhodes and Dorrey Lyles is very high and new projects are already planned for 2020/2021 and later.
